2014 Audi TTS Roadster

The owner of this 2014 Audi TTS roadster is one of my best friend’s dads. When we scheduled his appointment he had just taken delivery of the vehicle. When taking delivery of a car it is usually important to tell the dealership not to prep it. Why? There are a few reasons: #1 Most of the time the employees in “Make Ready” are not skilled/not trained properly, #2 If they are skilled, they are always rushed and using subpar products. This isn’t their fault but to keep your car from starting off on the wrong foot it is best to ask them not to prep it at all. Luckily it looked liked this car had not been prepped by the dealer before.

The owner was looking for plenty of protection for his new “weekend car” and plenty of shine. The perfect match would be the 22ple VX1 Ultra Durable Glass Coating and Gtechniq’s I1 Smart Fabric Protectant for the soft top. The 22ple VX1 would provide all the protection necessary and always enhance the gloss and depth of the paint. The Gtechniq I1 Smart Fabric Protectant would protect the soft top by coating the individual fibers of the fabric thereby leaving the “breathability” and feel of the fabric unaffected meaning that stale air can still escape but at the same time can repel any water or oil based liquids. After sorting through the different options we were set to go.

After applying the Gtechniq I1 Smart Fabric the difference was immediately apparent when we tested it. I tried to get a good spot where the water wouldnt bead off immediately so I could take a picture of the water literally just lying on top of the soft top. This will help the soft top last longer and even repel dirt.

Now it was time to apply the 22ple VX1. I love 22ple for many reasons but the main reason is its durability! Many coatings claim durability but few can pair it with gloss and for that reason 22ple is my go to coating, whether we are working on a Porsche or a Lincoln Navigator. Once the application was complete the difference was already noticeable. 22ple VX1 takes about 3 days to fully cure and after those 3 days is when it looks its best. Here are some pictures, taken immediately after the application, of this great looking roadster!
