Joseph Acevedo Jr

Entrepreneur

My name is Joseph Acevedo Jr and I am the eldest of three children from a family with deep roots in San Antonio, Tx. My great-grandparents immigrated to the United States over a century ago with dreams to provide a better family for their children. My grandfathers entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own produce company which he grew into a successful company that sent many of my uncles and father to college and then law school.

I attended St. Anthony Elementary and Middle school, then matriculating to Central Catholic High School. During my time in high school I was a member of the varsity basketball team and served as director of the Our Lady of Grace Teen A.C.T.S. retreat. I attended the University of Houston before transferring to the University of the Incarnate Word to study Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.

While attending the University of Houston I worked as the Production assistant with All Access Badging, Escort privileges, tickets and working directly with artists and their managers, from George Strait to Bruno Mars. I started my first business, San Antonio Auto Salon & Spa in 2012 and grew the company to serve high end clientele with everything from automotive window tint to complete paint corrections and detailing services. I sold the business in 2014 and began to work at North Park Lincoln as a sales assistant before moving into the sales consultant position after 6 months. I established a customer base working face-to-face with a diverse society of careers, ethnicity and tax brackets utilizing communication skills and marketing strategies to help clients from all walks of life.

In my spare time I enjoy playing basketball at my church, Our Lady of Grace, traveling with my family and looking for ways to stay involved in my community. I currently serve on the Hope for the Future Development Board and the Central Catholic Alumni Association Board as the Sgt-At-Arms. I enjoy making connections within the city and growing my network.
